About our service in Algés

Algés is dense and awkward to service, and pretending otherwise leads to missed changeovers. The streets in the centre are narrow, double-parked and busy with people heading for the station, so there is often no realistic place to stop with a load of linen. We plan where to unload before we set off, carry in what the flat needs and nothing more, and take the used sets out on the way back rather than making a second trip. The buildings are mostly older blocks, many of them above shops, with tight staircases and lifts that fit one person and a bag if they exist at all. Flats are compact, which cuts both ways: there is less floor to wash, but no storage either. Where there is a cupboard we keep a stock of linen, towels and consumables in the property so the changeover never depends on what is in the van; where there is not, we bring the sets in and remove the dirty ones each time. Nothing gets washed and dried between two bookings, because the window does not allow it. A typical turnover here is quick, tightly ordered and repetitive: beds stripped and remade, towels replaced, bathroom cleaned and descaled, kitchen and fridge cleared and wiped, floors washed, glass and mirrors done, waste separated and taken down to the street containers, consumables topped up, then the reset to your listing layout. Street noise and river light mean guests notice windows and blinds, so those are on the list rather than optional. These are lived-in buildings with permanent neighbours on every landing, and short lets are tolerated here rather than expected. We keep to the hours the condomínio allows, leave the stairwell clear and never park a bag of laundry outside somebody's door. Before we leave, the inventory is checked and everything relevant photographed: a broken blind, a chipped basin, a missing set of keys, a mattress protector that has had its day.
