The household half of our work here is driven by family volume and by the winters. Houses in Quinta do Conde often have a yard or a terrace, which is fine from May to September, but between November and March the mornings stay damp until late and a week's bedding for a family of five simply will not dry. Add the seasonal items, winter duvets, wool blankets, bedspreads and curtains, and you have loads that a small kitchen machine cannot fit, let alone rinse and dry to the core. We also collect for older residents and for households where nobody is home during the day, with a fixed weekly or monthly day and collection at the door. Many families here came from abroad or from Lisbon and are surprised that Portuguese homes rarely have a dryer; we work in English, French or Portuguese and can coordinate with a cleaner or co-host if you are not on site. The collection day is agreed in advance and confirmed to you each time it happens.
