Pipe Unclogging in Carcavelos

About our service in Carcavelos

Sand behaves unlike any other waste. It does not dissolve, it does not break down and it does not travel with the current: it settles. In a Carcavelos home where people come in from the beach several times a week, some of it stays in the shower, some in the patio gully, some in the trap of the outside shower. While there is flow, the water passes over the top and nothing seems wrong. Once the layer reaches a certain depth, drainage slows over a few days and then stops altogether. That is why so many people describe the problem as sudden when in truth it formed over months. The treatment has to lift the sand out, not push it along. A rod driven through it opens a temporary channel and leaves the deposit where it is, so the blockage returns before long. We prefer to take apart and empty traps and chambers wherever that is possible, and to use jetting that drags material back out of the run rather than sending it further on, where it will only form another plug. At houses, we take the opportunity to clean the external inspection chambers, where sand washed in by the rain joins the leaves. In blocks of flats, we also check the balcony gullies, the communal entrances and the car park ramps, where sand brought in by cars gathers in the same way. The area has a great deal of rented housing, let to students and to families connected with the international schools, with tenants changing often. In those homes we find mixtures that tell their own story: sand with hair, food waste in the kitchen sink and wipes in the toilet, because nobody explained to the new arrivals how the house works. To landlords we suggest a clean between tenancies, done with the property empty, which takes less time and heads off the urgent call mid-occupancy. We work Monday to Saturday, from nine in the morning to eight in the evening, and give priority to anyone with water on the floor.
