About our service in Amadora
When a house goes up first and the infrastructure arrives later, the drainage ends up wherever was convenient at the time. That is what we find in several streets of Brandoa, Falagueira and Casal de São Brás: tanks built against the boundary wall or beneath what later became the garage, with the cover ending up under a concrete floor poured some years afterwards. Sometimes there is a connection to the sewer made later, but only a partial one, with the kitchen or an added bathroom still discharging into the old structure. So before any emptying, we try to understand what is connected to what: the answer tells you whether the problem is one of volume, of plumbing, or of both. Locating the cover is the step that takes the most time here. We follow the outlet from the house, look for intermediate chambers and probe the likely points. When the cover is under laid paving, we say before starting that it will have to be opened and how much of that is breaking out work, so the owner decides knowing the facts rather than finding out halfway. Once found and opened, the visit follows the usual method: vacuum the crust and the bottom sludge, wash the walls and check inlet, baffle and outlet. In structures built without a design it is common to find no baffle at all, and that changes the advice we give about frequency. The urban setting adds two practical difficulties. The first is the gradient: many of these streets are steep, which limits where a loaded tanker can safely stand. The second is permanent parking on both sides of the road, which means arranging in advance for a space to be freed by the gate. We deal with that when booking and arrive with the hose length the distance demands. We work Monday to Saturday, warn the neighbours when taking up the road is unavoidable, and take the waste to a licensed treatment plant, with the disposal record handed over at the end.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about septic tanks in Amadora:
The cover ended up under the garage concrete. What happens then?
We locate the point from the outlet of the house and the intermediate chambers and tell you where it has to be opened, before starting. Breaking out is building work and the decision is always yours; we empty and clean as soon as there is access.
I connected part of the house to the sewer but still have problems. Does that make sense?
It does. Partial connections are common: one bathroom goes to the sewer while the kitchen or an extension still discharges into the old tank. As long as that connection exists, the tank keeps filling and keeps needing maintenance.
How is the quote calculated?
It weighs the size of the tank, how compacted the sludge is, the difficulty of locating and reaching the cover, and the street conditions for parking the tanker. With WhatsApp photos or a site visit we give a no-obligation quote.
