A deep clean adds the oven, the fridge, extractor filters, cupboard interiors, the tops of units and the runners of sliding doors and windows. The glass is the signature of the neighbourhood. Large windows facing the Tejo and the estuary collect a fine salt and dust film that dulls the whole flat, and the balcony sliders have runners that fill with grit. We clean the panes, the frames and the runners from the inside, and we are clear that anything requiring external access from outside the building is not work we take on. Access needs planning. Most towers here have a service lift, a designated entrance for contractors and hours during which they may be used, and many require the concierge to be told a name in advance. A good share of the flats are also let short-term or to people posted here for a year or two, so changeover and end-of-tenancy cleans to a fixed written list are a routine request.
