Cleaning surfaces first is how you end up with grit smeared across a dashboard and a cabin that looks worse than when you started. Different debris needs different tools, and passenger cars in this part of Lisbon collect a wide assortment. Hair from a dog in the boot will not come up with suction alone, it needs a rubber brush worked across the weave to lift it before the vacuum can take it away. Beach sand brought back from Caparica is the opposite problem: it has worked down into the pile and needs extraction rather than brushing. Crumbs, paper and the general residue of people eating in a car are straightforward. A smoke smell is not, and we will tell you honestly what can be improved and what is likely to linger. Commercial vehicles are welcome and we treat them practically. A small van full of stock, tools or delivery crates needs to be emptied before we start, or we clean around what is there. We do not move tools or materials, both because we are not insured to and because nobody wants their van repacked by a stranger. Load bays, cab floors, rubber mats, door shuts and the glass all clean up well. What we do not offer, in a van or a car, is any kind of disinfection or health claim. We clean the vehicle thoroughly and leave it fresh, but we do not sterilise it and we will not pretend otherwise.

Not on its own. Hair twists into the fibres of boot carpet and a vacuum head simply rolls over it. It has to be raised first with a rubber brush worked in one direction, and then lifted away by suction. It takes longer than ordinary vacuuming, which is why we ask about pets when quoting, but the difference in the finished boot is obvious.
My work van is full of tools. Do I need to empty it?
Emptying it gives by far the best result, especially in the load bay where everything collects underneath the racking. If that is not practical we will clean around whatever is in there and say plainly which areas we could not reach. What we will not do is move tools, stock or materials ourselves, so anything you want out of the way needs to come out before we arrive.
