Then there are the holiday lets, very common in Pedrouços and the Junqueira. These are homes where the equipment runs continuously for months, with guests who leave it on all day. The difference there is made by maintenance: filters cleaned between stays, the coil washed before the high season, drainage checked so that water never appears on the neighbour's ceiling. We leave simple operating instructions in Portuguese and English beside the remote, and explain to the owner what they can do themselves and what should be left to us.
