Pest Control in Odivelas

About our service in Odivelas

Pest control in Odivelas has a cause that keeps repeating and that many people do not connect. Between recent developments and established neighbourhoods there are still empty plots, embankments, informal allotments and land awaiting construction, and when an excavation, a demolition or a trench for services begins, the rodent population living there loses its shelter overnight. It does not disappear: it moves to the nearest building, along the lowest ground, and comes in through garages, basement vents, meter cupboards and pipe runs. So when we are called to a block in Famões, Ramada or Caneças, our first question is what has changed nearby in recent weeks. The treatment is organised in three rings. Outside, we walk the building line on the side facing the plot, identify the runs, meaning tracks of flattened grass, openings at the base of walls, entries beside covers and chambers, and install closed stations along that limit, fixed and labelled. On the building envelope, we seal whatever can be sealed: gaps under garage doors, vents with no mesh, pipe runs, broken chamber covers. Only inside, and only where there are signs, is a targeted application made. That order is not negotiable: baiting indoors without closing the envelope deals with the ones already in and leaves the door open for the next. In these situations monitoring is worth more than a single intervention. While the works last, the pressure on the building continues, and checking the same stations at intervals shows whether it is rising or easing, with a dated record of each check. That is the argument which usually persuades a management committee to act before residents start complaining, and it also documents the situation for whoever is responsible for the plot. We also treat ants and other insects arriving from embankments and waste ground by the same route, following the trail back to the point of entry.
