Post-Construction Cleaning in Algueirão-Mem Martins
Refurbishments in Algueirão-Mem Martins are very often done in stages, because the flats are family homes and the works have to be affordable and liveable at the same time. A bathroom this year in Mem Martins, a kitchen next year in the Tapada das Mercês, windows changed at Serra das Minas when the condomínio agrees, a bedroom replastered at the Rinchoa. We work throughout the parish, and the practical consequence is that our job comes round more than once for the same flat and has to be organised as a room-by-room strip plus a sweep of the dust that has escaped into the rest of the home.

About our service in Algueirão-Mem Martins
Each stage is treated the same way. Debris and packaging leave first and go to an authorised disposal point, not into the building's bins. Then the room is worked downwards: ceiling, tops of the doors and units, the new tiling, the frame and the glass, skirtings, floor last, and nothing wet until the dry dust has been taken out. That last rule saves the most trouble. Cement or plaster dust mixed with water becomes a paste that keys into the grout lines of new tiling and into the joints of the mosaic and terrazzo floors common in these blocks, and once it has dried there it needs abrasion rather than a mop. Beyond the worked room, the rest of the flat gets a pass over the surfaces where escaped dust settles: cupboard and wardrobe tops, curtain rails, door frames, skirtings, ventilation grilles. The slowest task is always the glazing and the joinery. Fine dust packs into runners, rebates and drainage slots, mastic ends up on the profiles, and where protective film has stayed on through a summer the adhesive has bonded. Frames are cleared mechanically before any glass is washed, because grit in a runner is precisely what leaves a permanent scratch across a pane. Where the works involved cutting out old frames or hacking off plaster, the reveals hold debris behind the new finish, and that is the reservoir which keeps refilling a flat with dust after everyone has gone home. Which brings us to what we do not promise. One visit rarely finishes a room that has been taken back to the brick — the dust keeps arriving for days from grilles, gaps and reveals, so a lighter second pass is normal and we would rather plan it than be blamed for it. Some marks also stay for good: paint cured into a grout line, cement hardened onto a cill, silicone dragged past its bead, glass scored by a trowel or by baked-on film. We show you each one before treating that area. And we clean rather than finish the works, so touch-in paint, missing grout and a skirting that will not sit down go back to your builder, or to our bricklayer service. We are here Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm, closed on Sunday, and we set the date against the real end of each stage, which in staged works tends to shift.

Frequently Asked Questions
What families doing their flat in stages ask us:
We are doing the flat one room a year. Do we need you every time?
For any stage that involved breaking out tile, plaster or a frame, yes, because that is the kind of dust normal cleaning does not shift and it spreads well beyond the room. For a lighter stage — new units fitted, a room repainted with no demolition — you may be able to manage it yourself. Tell us what the trades actually did and we will say honestly whether it is worth calling us in.
Can you do just the room and leave the rest to us?
Yes, if that is what you want, and we will flag the consequence. The dust that has escaped into the corridor, the wardrobe tops and the grilles will keep landing on the clean room for several days. Plenty of clients take the worked room from us and handle the rest themselves, which is a perfectly reasonable division — we just prefer you to know why the room greys over again.
The plaster in the bedroom was hacked off. Is there dust inside the walls now?
There is debris in the reveals, behind the new plaster line and in any gap around pipework, and that is exactly where a flat stores dust after this kind of work. We extract what is reachable, but a room taken back to the brick will keep releasing a little for a while as it is used. This is the clearest case for a second, lighter pass, and it is why we mention it at the quote rather than afterwards.
