Septic Tank Cleaning in Algueirão-Mem Martins

About our service in Algueirão-Mem Martins

The pattern here is partial connection. One street can hold the new half, connected when the road was surfaced, and the old half, two storey houses with a yard behind that stayed on their own system because connecting meant building work inside the property and it was never done. Owners often have no idea which situation they are in, especially where they bought the house ready built. So we start by confirming: is there a cover in the yard or on the garage approach, does that cover take an active inlet, and is there a branch chamber by the boundary wall. A site visit settles the doubt and avoids booking a service that is not the right one. Where the tank exists and is in use, we frequently meet a situation worth stating bluntly: it has never been emptied. A tank that has run for many years without maintenance has a hardened surface crust and a bottom occupied by compacted sludge, and the usable volume left is a fraction of the original. The house has worked badly for so long that the residents have normalised the slow drainage and the smell in the yard. In those cases emptying is not a matter of suction alone: we alternate vacuum with water injection to break up the deposit and take everything out, including what is stuck to the walls. Only with the structure empty can you see whether the baffle still exists and whether the outlet to the ground still works. After the first visit we can give a useful indication of frequency, which depends mainly on two things: how many people live in the house and the real capacity of the tank. In large households, common in this area, the interval shortens, and it is better to book ahead than to wait for an overflow. On the logistics side, many of these streets are steep and narrow with parking on both sides, so we agree a time and ask for space to be freed by the gate. The waste travels in our own vehicle to a licensed treatment plant, with the record handed over at the end.
