Unlike the rest of the city, this district was born fully connected. No tower on the Alameda dos Oceanos or the Passeio do Tejo has a septic tank, and anyone looking for that service is nearly always looking for something else. The equivalent piece of kit here is the pumping chamber: because many basements and plant rooms sit below the level of the municipal sewer, waste is collected in a chamber and pumped up.
