We do not refit child seats, and that is a fixed rule rather than a preference. Whether an Isofix connector has actually latched, whether the support leg is bearing properly, how a top tether is routed and how tight a belt is through the guides, are all things the person responsible for the child should check for themselves. A cleaner handing back a seat that looks fitted would be offering a reassurance they are not in a position to give. So the arrangement is simple: you take them out, we clean underneath and around, you put them back. What the job involves beyond that depends on the car, and a handful of photographs tells us more than a phone call. Size is the first factor, since a seven-seater with a third row folded into the floor is a very different afternoon from a small hatchback. Can you clean under the child seats without me taking them out?
Not properly, which is why we ask for them to come out first. The crumbs, spills and grit that make the back of a family car unpleasant sit directly underneath, and a seat strapped in place blocks all of it. We also will not refit them afterwards: anchoring a child seat safely is the parent's responsibility, and it is not something we are willing to sign off on.
What makes one car more work than another?
Size, first of all, and then the state of the interior. Pet hair adds a lot of time because it has to be brushed up before it can be vacuumed. Beach sand does too, because it has to be extracted rather than sucked off the surface. A smoke smell, a long gap since the last clean and whether you want the outside done all count. Do you work at weekends?
Saturdays yes, Sundays no. We work Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm, and Saturday mornings are the busiest slot with families, so it is worth booking ahead rather than the day before. During the week we can often fit a car in the same day if you message us early enough.
