Professional Painting in Odivelas
We cover Odivelas, and our team travels out across the centre, Pontinha, Famões, Póvoa de Santo Adrião, Olival Basto, Caneças and Ramada. The concelho has grown steadily, mixing consolidated older neighbourhoods with recent developments, and a lot of our work here is tied to somebody moving. A flat bought and being redecorated before the furniture arrives, a young family taking on a place that needs the previous owner's colours gone, a house being freshened before it goes on the market. Painting an empty property is the best version of this job: nothing to move, nothing to protect from, and the chance to prepare the walls properly without working around a household.

About our service in Odivelas
An empty flat lets us do the whole thing in the right order. Walls come first: washed where they need it, holes and fixings filled, knocked corners rebuilt and sanded, chalky old coatings stabilised with the right primer, stains sealed so they do not bleed through. Then ceilings, then joinery, then the final wall coats, so nothing that is already finished gets damaged by the stage after it. Doors and fitted wardrobes are removed from their hinges where practical, degreased, keyed, primed to suit the substrate and spray-finished in enamel, which gives a far smoother result than a brush ever will and lets us allow the manufacturer's drying time between coats without the flat being out of use. Skirtings and window boards go in the same pass. Colour is worth thinking about before we start rather than during. Covering a strong previous colour takes preparation and a blocking primer, and it needs more finishing coats than a like-for-like repaint, all of which belongs in the quote from the outset. If the property is being prepared for sale or for letting, neutral and consistent through the flat generally photographs and shows better than a different shade in every room. And in children's rooms and hallways a more washable finish saves repainting the same marks before long, which is a small decision with a lasting payoff. Before quoting we check for water, because painting over damp does not fix damp. In newer developments it tends to be an unsealed window head, a terrace or balcony above a bedroom, or a bathroom with poor extraction; in the older parts, a gable taking the weather or a leak from a neighbouring flat. Either way, a stain covered with fresh paint reappears. moisture-detection finds the source, bricklayer handles render, plaster and waterproofing, water-leak-repair sees to a pipe, and decorating comes last. One more thing worth knowing if you have just bought: the facade, the stairwell, the lobby and the garage are common parts, and repainting them is a decision for the condomínio, not for an individual owner.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions from people moving into Odivelas:
Is it better to paint before the furniture arrives?
Much better, if your dates allow it. An empty property means we can prepare properly, work in the right sequence of walls, ceilings and joinery, take doors off their hinges to spray them, and allow the drying time between coats without anybody having to live around it. There is nothing to move, cover or damage, and the finish is cleaner at the edges. If the timing does not work, we paint occupied homes in stages instead, room by room, with everything sheeted.
The previous owner painted every room a different strong colour. What is involved?
More than a standard repaint, so it belongs in the quote from the start. Deep colours bleed through pale topcoats, so those walls are prepared and then given a blocking primer, followed by enough finishing coats to look even rather than blotchy. Reds, deep blues and strong yellows are the hardest work. Show us the rooms at the survey, or send photos, and we will price for what those walls actually need instead of revising it once we have started.
Can you paint the entrance hall of our building too?
Only with the condomínio's agreement. The entrance hall, the stairwell, the lift lobby, the garage and the facade are common parts of the building, so the work and the cost are decided collectively through the administrator or the owners' assembly, not by one flat. If you want to get it moving, we can survey and provide a written quote for the administrator to circulate. The schedule then has to fit the hours the building rules set for noisy work.
