Order of work first, because it is what makes the difference. The debris goes out at the start, bagged and taken to an authorised disposal point. Then we clean from the top down — ceilings and light fittings, tops of doors and shopfront frames, high shelving, glass, skirtings — with the floor left until last. And everything is dry-extracted before water appears. Cement, plaster and grout dust wetted with a mop becomes a slurry, and that slurry runs into tile joints, into the seams of vinyl and into the grain of an old board, and dries hard. On a commercial floor that has just been laid, that mistake is visible from the doorway for years. Glazing is the longest task and in Algés it is often the most important, because a shopfront is the first thing a customer sees. Large panes, aluminium frames, deep runners, drainage slots and, very often, adhesive left behind by protective film that stayed on through the works — the frames are cleared mechanically before the glass is washed, or the grit rides across the pane and marks it permanently. Extract grilles and air-conditioning vents come next: they collected fine dust while the works were open, and they hand it straight back to a clean room the first time the system runs. Where the works reached a rear yard or a service area, that gets cleared and washed down too. Two things we always put in writing. First, we clean and we do not complete: touch-in paint, a missing bead of grout, a shopfront trim that was never properly fixed is for whoever carried out the works, or for our bricklayer service. Second, a single visit does not always finish it. Fine dust keeps drifting out of grilles, off high shelving and out of the frames we have just emptied for days, so where a space has been stripped back we plan a lighter second pass and say so at the quote. Some marks also stay for good — paint cured into a grout line, cement set into stone, silicone dragged beyond its bead, glass scratched by a trowel — and we point those out before treating the area. We work Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm, closed on Sunday, and we set the date against the day the trades genuinely finish, which for a shop opening usually moves at least once.
