Pressure Washing in Algés
We work in Algés, and our team covers Algés centre, Cruz Quebrada, Dafundo, Miraflores and the Alto de Algés. It is a dense strip between the river and the hill, and both leave their mark. Traffic on the main routes lays a greasy film over street elevations, entrances and shop frontages, while river damp keeps the north-facing walls and rear yards permanently green. Older buildings here often have no outside tap at street level, pavements are narrow and busy, and parking is tight, so how we get water, power and equipment to the work is as much a part of the plan as the washing itself. We survey, test a small area and quote in writing.

About our service in Algés
A frontage on a busy street is a mixture of materials in a small space: rendered walls, a stone plinth, painted metalwork, a tiled shop surround, glazing and the pavement itself. So pressure is matched to the substrate all the way along, and the weakest element sets the limit at every junction. We prove the settings on a discreet area first, usually inside a doorway reveal or on a return wall down a side street, then work across the front. Where the render is chalking or the plinth stone is fretting, we say what a wash will actually reveal, because taking traffic film off a failing coating leaves a wall that then needs painting rather than a wall that looks new. Working on a narrow pavement means managing everybody else. We cordon and sign the area, keep a walking route open, protect shop entrances, doorbells, meters, lighting and signage, and cover parked cars or agree with the owners when they can be moved. Dirty water is not allowed to spread: gullies are covered, grit, gum residue and paint flakes are swept up and taken away instead of being washed into a rainwater drain that leads to the river, and we work with the fall of the street so residue gathers where we can collect it. Water and power are agreed at the survey, because a hose run through a hall or a tap in a ground-floor shop is often the only realistic option, and we plan volumes since municipal restrictions on water use can apply in a dry summer. On results we are candid. Traffic film comes off well; the discolouration underneath, where exhaust has been in contact with render for many years, may be permanent. Graffiti on painted shutters and doors usually lifts, on bare plinth stone it leaves a shadow, and some stains will not come out however patiently they are worked. Rear yards and north walls will green again, because the damp that caused it does not change. Roofs and rear terraces are assessed rather than assumed, and where a covering is old we recommend a gentler method. Where the building is to be repainted, wash first, dry, then paint.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions from Algés residents and shopkeepers:
Traffic film has darkened the front of the building. Will it come clean?
In most cases yes, and the improvement is usually the most visible thing we do on a main road. The part to be careful about is what the film is sitting on. Where the coating is sound, the grime lifts and the original colour comes back. Where it has chalked or is flaking, washing removes the loose material as well and you are left with a patchy wall that needs decorating. Long-term contact between exhaust residue and porous render can also stain the material itself. We test a panel and show you before agreeing the full elevation.
Our shopfront pavement is narrow and busy. How is that handled?
With planning rather than improvisation. We cordon and sign a working area, keep a clear route for pedestrians, protect the entrance and any display, and time the noisy stages to suit the business as far as our working hours allow, which are Monday to Saturday, closing on Sunday. Wash water is contained and residue collected so nothing spreads across neighbouring doorways. Where the pavement is genuinely too tight to work safely during trading, we agree an early or late slot within those hours instead.
There is no tap at the front of the building. What then?
It is a normal situation here and it is solved at the survey, not on the day. Depending on the building we run a hose from a communal courtyard, from a ground-floor flat or shop with the owner's agreement, or from a tap at the rear, and where nothing is available we bring our own supply for smaller jobs. Power is the same question: we need a socket that will safely take the equipment rather than an old shared circuit on a landing. Both details change the method and the time on site, so they belong in the quote.
