About our service in Algés
In Algés the most frequent problem in a condominium is not technical, it is one of boundaries. Who cleans what becomes a recurring argument at the owners' meeting. Before starting, we walk the building with the manager and set the exact limit of our work in writing: lobby and stairs yes, the inside of the shops no, the shared threshold yes, the shop window no. After that the work is simple and the crossed complaints stop. The second point is refuse. In this area most buildings have no store of their own and the containers stand on the public highway, with the shops producing cardboard and packaging in quantity. What condominium cleaning can do is keep the internal route to the door in good order, clean the spot where bags are put down while they wait to go out, and wash the threshold and the pavement immediately outside. We do that with a brush and detergent, and when a smell persists the cause is usually a nearby drain, which we report to the manager because cleaning will not solve it. The rest is ordinary work in an old stairwell: stone treads, a painted metal handrail, flat doors, letterboxes, the glass of the street door and the bulb on each landing that nobody notices has gone until somebody trips. We clean from the top down, with little water on wooden landings, and we keep the entrance glass clear, which on a street as busy as Algés dirties remarkably fast. We work Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm, on a fixed day, with our own equipment and a written record of anything observed for the manager.
