That sequence exists because of one specific mistake: mopping a room that is still full of cement and plaster dust. Getting it back out is slow, sometimes abrasive, and never as good as simply having vacuumed first. There is no lift in my building. Does that change the job?
It changes the effort, so yes. Everything the builders left has to be bagged and carried down, and our equipment and water have to go up. On the visit we count the flights, look at how wide the turns are and check whether a van can stand outside long enough to load. That is one of the things that shapes the quote, alongside floor area and how much debris there actually is.
Will the products you use harm my old hydraulic tile floor?
Not the ones we choose for it. The colour in those tiles lives in a thin cement layer near the surface, so acidic descalers and aggressive alkaline strippers can etch or bleach the pattern for good. We vacuum thoroughly, use a neutral product and minimal water, and we test in a corner first. If a tile already has cement stuck hard into it we will say what we can and cannot get off it before we start.
My neighbours put up with weeks of works. Will the clean disturb them again?
Less than the works did, but there is noise from industrial vacuums and there is traffic on the stairs. We agree the loading times with you, protect the stairwell and landings, sweep them at the end, and keep the noisier stages within reasonable hours. If your condomínio restricts when materials can be moved, tell us and we will build the day around it.
