Solar Panel Cleaning in Lisboa
Panels installed anywhere in Lisbon live in a grimy air column. Traffic on the Segunda Circular and the Eixo Norte-Sul lays down a fine oily soot, building sites throw up cement dust that sets hard once it gets damp, and pigeons treat any tilted glass surface as a perch. On a flat roof terrace above Avenidas Novas or a pitched roof in Graça, the result is the same: a grey veil you stop noticing because it arrives so slowly. Arranja Já travels into the city to wash photovoltaic and solar thermal panels properly, with demineralised water and a soft brush, and to tell you honestly what we saw while we were up there.

About our service in Lisboa
We work the way the panel manufacturers ask us to, and that means saying no to a few things. No high pressure: forcing water at a frame joint can push it past the seal and into the junction box, and no cleaning job is worth that. No scouring pads, no scrapers, no abrasive powder, because the anti-reflective layer on the glass is thin and once you have dulled it there is no putting it back. No acidic or alkaline detergents either. Aggressive cleaning is also one of the quickest ways to lose the warranty on an installation you paid a lot for. What we do use is demineralised water, which dries off without leaving the white limescale spotting that Lisbon tap water leaves behind, applied at a controlled pressure with a soft brush head. Timing matters as much as method. A Lisbon roof terrace in the middle of a July afternoon is genuinely hot, and cold water hitting hot glass is a thermal shock that risks micro-cracks in the cells. So we come early in the morning, late in the afternoon, or on a grey overcast day, and we will move an appointment rather than work at the wrong hour. Access is the other half of the job. Many Lisbon buildings have a usable roof terrace and a service stair, which makes life simple. Others need a ladder, an anchor line and a harness, or a telescopic pole worked from the ground where the rows sit within reach. Please do not go up yourself to have a look: wet panels are slippery and you never stand on the modules. Alongside the wash we do a visual check, clean the frames and pull out the leaves, feathers and litter that pack in underneath the rows. If we find a scorched connector, a chafed cable, heat marks, cracked glass or delamination, we photograph it and tell you to call your installer or a certified electrician. We are cleaners, not electricians: the inverter, the DC side and the protections stay untouched.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions we are asked most often by customers in Lisbon:
My panels are on a roof terrace behind a parapet. Can you reach them?
Usually yes, and a parapet often makes the job safer. We look at how the roof terrace is reached, whether the service stair is usable and how much clearance there is behind the rows, then bring the ladder, harness and anchor line or a platform to suit. Sometimes a telescopic pole from the terrace floor is all that is needed.
Will cleaning bring my production back up?
If dirt was shading the cells, a clean lets the panels work in the conditions they were designed for. We do not put a number on it. If you want to see the difference, note what your monitoring app shows before the visit and compare it afterwards in similar weather.
How do I know I am not being sold a clean I do not need?
Look at the glass in low sun from a window above, or send us a photo. A uniform grey film, dried droppings or a build-up of dust in the lower corners of each module tells you it is time. If the panels genuinely look clean, we will say so.
