Land Clearing in Lumiar
Lumiar is a district still being finished, and that is exactly where the clearing work sits. We will not pretend there is countryside here, because there is not, but between the completed blocks at Alto do Lumiar and out towards Ameixoeira there are parcels waiting on a project, fenced and forgotten, and they fill with growth in a season or two. Telheiras and Paço do Lumiar bring us something smaller and more domestic: ground-floor gardens and shared courtyards that a condominium has stopped maintaining. We cover all of it, and our team travels out to look at the access and the volume before committing to a scope.

About our service in Lumiar
Even inside the city, the annual clearing duty applies to whoever owns the land. In Portugal a landowner must clear the vegetation on their plot each year for wildfire prevention, keeping managed strips around any building on it, and the câmara municipal both checks and can commission the work where an owner has not acted. A fenced development parcel at Alto do Lumiar counts, whatever its intended future. Our part is the work: cutting, gathering and taking away. We are not the ones who file for you, and we will not certify your plot as compliant, because that is not something a contractor can hand you. The rules and deadlines change from year to year and vary by município, so check with the câmara municipal for the requirement that applies to your parcel. Access sorts these jobs into two very different kinds. An open development parcel with a site gate can be worked mechanically and cleared fast, providing the fencing lets a machine through and there is somewhere for a lorry to stand. A ground-floor garden behind a block in Telheiras is the opposite: hand tools, and every load carried out through a shared entrance hall or a garage ramp, which usually needs the condominium warned in advance. On parcels that have stood behind hoarding for a while, expect fly-tipping under the growth. Bagged waste, tipped rubble from nearby works, discarded furniture and old fencing panels are all routine, and occasionally we find an uncovered chamber or tank. We photograph it and tell you before continuing. Trees are assessed individually, never cleared as a block. Cork oak and holm oak are legally protected in Portugal and olive trees are regulated, and remnants of the old quintas that this district was built over do survive, so such trees genuinely turn up on parcels here. We establish the species before cutting, and a protected tree goes through an authorisation rather than a decision on the day. All cut material leaves for a licensed disposal point, with none of it dealt with by fire on the ground. If a parcel is heading into construction, say so, because stumps, levelling and plant access are a separate scope.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions we are asked about clearance in Lumiar:
Is there actually overgrown land in a district like Lumiar?
Yes, but not the kind people picture. There is no open scrubland here, and we would rather say that plainly than invent it. What there is: development parcels at Alto do Lumiar and towards Ameixoeira held behind fencing while a project waits, strips of leftover ground between finished blocks, and ground-floor or courtyard gardens that a condominium has let go. Those come with real volumes of material and real access problems, which is what makes them jobs rather than tidying.
The garden is behind an apartment block. How does the material get out?
Through whatever route the building allows, and that has to be agreed first. In practice it is usually the garage ramp or a service entrance, and the condominium needs to know when we are coming and how long the route will be in use. We work that out at the visit, along with where the vehicle can stand. It matters to the price too, because carrying cut growth through a building is much slower than dropping it over a wall into a trailer.
We own a plot here that is due to be built on. Should we clear it now or wait?
The clearing duty does not pause for a permit, so leaving it until the builders arrive is a risk. What we would suggest is a seasonal cut to keep the fuel load down and the fly-tipping visible, then a proper preparation scope when the project is actually going ahead: stumps out, buried rubble dealt with, ground roughly levelled and an entrance opened for plant. Those are two different jobs and we quote them separately so you are not paying for site preparation years early.
