The precautions are practical ones: we wash in sections, signpost the wet area, rinse rather than leave detergent on the surface, and hand the ramp back when it is dry rather than when the machine stops. If the ramp finish has worn smooth through age, cleaning will show that up, and the fix for that is a surface treatment rather than more washing.

Can you clean the play area paving safely?

Yes, with a couple of conditions we set at the survey. Rubber tiles, poured safety surfacing and artificial grass are all damaged by high pressure, so they are cleaned at low pressure with the appropriate detergent, and hard paving around them is treated separately. The area is fenced off while it is wet, we rinse thoroughly so nothing is left on a surface children sit on, and equipment frames are washed by hand where a jet would strip paint. It goes back into use once dry, not before.
