Pest Control in Queluz

About our service in Queluz

Pest control in Queluz is, in practice, a search for dead voids. The blocks put up between the 1970s and the 1990s share the same building solutions: shutter boxes set into the wall, false ceilings over the kitchen and bathroom to hide pipework, fitted wardrobes with no real back, vertical service risers and plasterboard walls crossed by ducts. Each of those creates a dark, warm volume, damp and with no air movement at all, which is the exact definition of harbourage. When someone switches on the light and sees a cockroach on the kitchen floor, they are seeing an individual that came out; the population lives a little above, behind the ceiling panel or inside the shutter box. The advantage of an area built this way is that the defects repeat. Across identical blocks on the same estate, the entry and harbourage points are nearly always the same, which lets the inspection go straight to what matters: lift a ceiling panel, open the shutter box hatch, check the pipe run behind the bath and the seal around the extractor. Once the harbourage is found, the application goes inside it, with gel and certified products at closed points, out of reach of children and animals, rather than spraying through the rooms. It is also the only way to treat without making the family empty every cupboard. Two things often go with it locally. Enclosed balconies with watered plants and laundry drying create permanent damp and attract ants, which climb the balcony joints and come in through the frame; we follow the trail to the point of entry and treat there. And the basements, meter rooms and garages of these blocks are the rodents' route between floors, so we seal pipe runs and gaps under doors before placing any closed station. At the end we set out in writing what was opened, what was treated and what the management committee should replace or repair.
